From Mount Aloysius College
The Mount Aloysius College Board of Trustees has announced a contract extension for President John N. McKeegan, J.D. for the next four years through 2030. McKeegan joined the College in 2020 and is the 15th president of the Mount.
“This unanimous decision by the Board of Trustees reflects our confidence in John, that he will continue bringing dedication and his love of the College to work every day,” said Greg Drew, chair of the Mount Aloysius College Board of Trustees. “John’s passion for the Mount’s mission and values is evident, and we look forward to the bright future of Mount Aloysius College under his leadership.”
During McKeegan’s tenure, Mount Aloysius has achieved remarkable growth, up 20% in full-time students; opened a $7M Success Commons; completed a $15M residence hall renovation; initiated multiple partnerships to address healthcare workforce needs; launched nursing and expanded allied health programs in Clearfield County; and repeatedly gained national “Great College to Work For” recognition.
“It is a humble honor to continue to serve as the 15th president of Mount Aloysius College, and I am grateful for our Trustees’ confidence,” said McKeegan. “It is a privilege to collaborate with such a dedicated team of faculty, staff, and administrators, and a joy to have a role in the journey of our incredible students.”
Before his presidency at the Mount, McKeegan was VP for Institutional Advancement and General Counsel at Linfield University. Born and raised in central PA, McKeegan volunteers with several community organizations, along with his wife, Theresa. McKeegan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with Honors in English, from Bucknell University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame. He also completed the Harvard Graduate School of Education Institute for Educational Management and has participated in ACCU’s Rome Seminar.
